Help Us Create Chances to Work
Every young person deserves the chance to work. At Learning for Life Charity, we’re creating those chances – and we need passionate people like you to help turn opportunities into reality.
We support young people aged 14-25 who face some of the toughest barriers to employment and independence. Many of those we work with have Special Educational Needs (SEN) or disabilities, have been excluded from mainstream education, are struggling with mental health challenges, or simply feel overlooked by society.
We believe that with the right support and real opportunities, every young person can thrive – because work doesn’t look the same for everyone, but everyone can contribute when given the chance.
As a volunteer, you will help create pathways for young people to discover their strengths, gain valuable experience, and build skills that shape their future.
Our Vision, Mission, & Values
Our Vision: We believe that every young person deserves the chance to work.
Our Mission: We create chances to work.
Our Values: We include. We inspire. We innovate.
Why Your Support Matters
Young people today face an increasingly complex world. Rising unemployment, worsening mental health, social isolation, and shrinking community support create a perfect storm of exclusion. In Enfield alone, youth unemployment is well above both London and national averages.
For those in Pupil Referral Units or living with learning disabilities, the barriers are even higher. But these statistics don’t have to define anyone’s future.
Hope isn’t just a feeling – it’s a strategy. With the right support, meaningful opportunities, and someone who believes in them, young learners begin to see what’s possible. That’s where you come in.
Through our charity shops, furniture delivery and collection service, and digital platforms, we provide real work experience that builds confidence, skills, and pathways to employment. Every volunteer plays a vital role in making this happen.
